At AngelPDF, your privacy is fundamental to how we build our product. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have over your information.

Information We Collect

When you use AngelPDF, we collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and payment information when subscribing to a paid plan. We also collect usage data including which tools you use, processing timestamps, and file metadata (file names and sizes). We do not read or analyze the content of your documents beyond what is necessary to perform the requested operation.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve our document processing services, process payments, send transactional emails (job completions, password resets), and communicate product updates if you have opted in. We may use aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve our AI models and service performance.

Document Processing & Privacy Modes

AngelPDF offers three privacy modes for document processing. Cloud Storage mode keeps your files securely in your workspace for future access. Private Delete mode processes files on our servers and automatically deletes them within one hour of download. Local Only mode processes files entirely in your browser using WebAssembly — your documents never leave your device. You can change your default privacy mode at any time in your account settings.

Data Security

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3. Documents stored in Cloud Storage are encrypted at rest using AES-256. We implement industry-standard security practices including access controls, audit logging, and regular security assessments. Our infrastructure is hosted on SOC 2 Type II certified cloud providers.

Third-Party Services

We use select third-party services to operate AngelPDF, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors (Stripe and Razorpay), and AI model providers for intelligence features. These providers are bound by data processing agreements and only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their function.

Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Documents in Cloud Storage are retained until you delete them or close your account. Documents processed in Private Delete mode are automatically deleted within one hour. Job history metadata is retained for 90 days. Upon account deletion, all personal data and stored files are permanently removed within 30 days.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can export all your data from your account settings. You can request account deletion by contacting support. If you are in the EU, you have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to object to processing.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of AngelPDF after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
